Acts 3:21 says that Jesus

"…must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything (KJV ‘all things’)…”

In the 1950’s God restored the Office of the Evangelist, in the 1960’s God restored the Office of the Pastor, in the 1970’s God restored the Office of the Teacher, in the 1980’s God restored the Office of the Prophet. Now since the 1990’s God has been restoring the Office of the Apostle.

I Cor 12:28 states that “ …in the church God has appointed first of all (GK ‘proton’) apostles, second prophets, third teachers…” If the apostles are first in order and first in rank we the church have not had our best aligned against the enemy. As Tommy Tenney says in his book “God’s DreamTeam” the enemy has his best on the field of battle but we, the church have not. If apostles are the first in rank etc, the generals of the army, there is no way we can win without them in their proper place. They must be recognized, accepted and released to lead the army of God. This cannot happen if the body of Christ will not accept them and even further make room for them. We cannot go to war with privates, corporals, sergeants, first
Lieutenants etc and leaving the generals out. The generals are those with the Warrior Spirit. I call it the Jehu spirit. He was an OT type of apostle; he was an apostle of war. God commissioned him and sent him to destroy the house of Ahab and Jezebel. He did so with focus, determination and great zeal. This is the spirit we need in today’s church. This is the anointing of the apostle. He/she is gifted by God to equip, organize, mobilize and lead the church to advance the kingdom. Satan and his army cannot be put “under his feet” without the generals leading the way.

The office of the apostle must be restored! This calls for courage” …the kingdom of God is forcefully advancing and forceful (courageous) men lay hold of it”. Where are the Jehu generals and where is the army of Jehu?
