 NEW YORK APOSTLES

Why New York Apostles

What New York Apostles is Not

Apostle Carlos Lopez is the convening apostle and I act as an ambassadorial apostle. Or goal is to draw together those functioning in our city on the level of apostles and prophets. Some may use these titles and others may not. But they are functioning under these annointings in our city. We emphasize apostles of our city.

There are many apostles in our city but we feel the call of God drawing together those who have a vision and a call for this great area, NYC.

Prophet/Apostle Chuck Pierce in his book "The Future War of the Church" writes, "Apostolic authority must be established in a field if we are to reap the harvest of that field." In addition he states "When God gives the church in a city the right order of government and gifting, when the church begins to come into proper order, we then have the authority to dethrone thrones of iniquity that rule in our cities."

Why New York apostles?

As we examine the New Testament for a closer look at the apostolic activity conducted by the Apostles of the Early church, the terms city and region becomes very prominent in the overall doing of those who lead the way in the spreading of the gospel. Another important characteristic easy to detect is the one of order and boundaries. It seems like in the very beginning the city of Jerusalem became the center of apostolic activity due to the fact that the twelve, apparently, had chosen this city as their executive domain or headquarters.

Later on when the Antioch explosion took place a new sphere of Apostles began to emerge having Barnabas and Paul as the leaders of this group. As time went on more Apostles began to surfaced as new teams of Apostles were formed. Paul took Silas and Barnabas took John Mark. From this point on the relevant presence of what I call a “New Order of Apostles” cut to reflect the style and mentoring of its founder the apostle Paul marks a new demarcation in the development of the office of the Apostle. The Apostle Paul from this point on becomes the innovator of this office. He clearly takes the vanguard and begins to expand and broaden the spectrum of both the office itself and the function of the New Testament Apostle. He departed from the dependency of the 12 Apostles of the Lamb who apparently continued to remain at Jerusalem.

At this point in time, the sending is now in high gear and we begin to see the surge of new apostolic teams. These were predominantly “Apostles after the order of Paul” in their style of doing apostolic work into the cities and regions of their time.

I believe every city needs to have a group of recognized Apostles* working together for the welfare of the city and the establishing of God’s Kingdom. The benefits of having such group functioning within a city are as follows:

1. It sets a spiritual governmental structure to let ruling powers and principalities know who is the Lord of the city and region

2. Working alongside the Prophets of the city these two offices will provide the right foundation for the purpose of the Father to be properly identified and accomplished.

3. Apostles and Prophets are catalyst who release The Fathering Spirit necessary for the right upbringing of future generations.

4. Apostles are agent of change. They are indispensable if we are to see in a city and region the continuation of the present Apostolic Reformation.

5. Apostles are visionaries and pioneers who can set in motion the plan and the strategy and the implementation of the same for the benefit of the lost in a city and region.

6. The interacting of Apostles promotes the unity of the body of believers of the city

7. The coming together of the Apostles in any given city will increase the level of activity of the Holy Spirit towards the accomplishing of the Great Commission

* Recognized Apostles, are those who can be identified by their function. These could very well be men and women who have their city at heart and whose mission of reaching it is not just a slogan but the very essence of their mission in a particular city. The range of these men and women can not be limited or measured only by the real estate assets of their ministry or by the size of their congregations. There are those who are budding Apostles and even some who may be operating under precarious circumstances dictated by the cultural fibers of the group they are called to serve in a city. This position I take is because I think is as valid as to say that not all those Ministers with the real estate assets and those Pastoring large congregations are all Apostles, yet some of them are.

What New York Apostles Is Not

1. New York Apostles is not an organization exercising a deliberate attempt to usurp authority, but rather a group of Apostles with the same heart and vision to initiate a dialogue towards the coming together of those who are called to the office of the Apostle in their city and region.

2. New York Apostles is not a group motivated by the desire to form a powerful group of men and women with the intention to set up a traditional organizational chart of humanistic and religious hierarchy over our city and region. It is however our heart to respond appropriately to the existing need in our city and region to have a group of men and women called to function with the distinctive gift of Apostles (and even Prophets) to form rings of leadership such as:

A. The establishing of a spiritual protocol or a spiritual governmental structure if you will to point this city and region towards the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

B. To pursue the solidification of a diverse group representative of the city and region who will serve as a ring of apostolic gatekeepers or city apostolic council.

C. To raise an awareness, first in the heavens to the rulers and principalities over this territory and, secondly, in the earth to the Church and the city that the formation of a new wineskin is in dprogress under the new Apostolic Reformation.

D. Unite under one body of peers to serve the Father’s purpose for His people, city and region.

1. New York Apostles is not an organization deliberately designed to proclaim that we are the only group in our city and region functioning as Apostles; on the contrary it is our desire to bring an awakening to our city and region that there are many presently called and functioning in these two offices and much good may come out if they are recognized as such rather than to be ignored and rejected.

2. New York Apostles is not an exclusive club with a set of rigid and legalistic set of rules. It is however by the virtue of the anointing resting on this ring of leaders an all inclusive body of those called to function in this particular office in our city and region for the following purposes:

i. An organization of men and women who come together to form a new leadership ring to interact with one another not because they are the crème of the crop of the Fivefold Office Ministry gifts; but rather because it is an opportunity to build each other up, and create a sense of harmony and integration by those possessing the same gift.

ii. The same way builders and bricklayers have their own associations; there is an exponential benefit anytime peers of the same group such as ours come together.

iii. Because this office is presently being restored by the Father, there is much to learn about the office of the Apostle; therefore it is more out of this necessity and not as a desire of being exclusive that this ring of leaders is being formed.

1. New York Apostles is not an ordaining body for those desiring to be recognized as Apostles. It does not either intend to coerce or force any of its members to adopt the use of the title of Apostle in order to be recognized as such or in order to become members. It does however restrict the right of membership subject to the appropriate recommendation of its peers, and the final approval of the president Apostle.
